AdwCleaner did not detect the adware virus at all, and thus did nothing about it. I then proceeded to step 2, using AdwCleaner to remove the adware. It scanned it, and now says the file is not a threat (but it clearly is). (in order to not have to wait 10+ hours again). I then used Zemana's "drag-and-drop" feature to re-scan just `tprdpw64.exe` So the 10+ hours of waiting were all for nothing. Which is still on my system, and still runs (I can still see it in task manager after rebooting). It removed them all successfully, except for `tprdpw64.exe` Quarantine list from my system and then rebooted my PC. I then decided to have Zemana remove the files in the However, when checking the quarantine list `tprdpw64.exe` is After it finished the scan, it said it has placed all files into quarantine, including `tprdpw64.exe`. (among other, smaller "threats"), and labeled it as malware. Zemana detected the malware virus `tprdpw64.exe` located at "C:\WINDOWS\System32\tprdpw64.exe" Might I add that this took overġ0 hours to complete, as I have 1,396,541 files on my PC, so this whole thing wasted nearly half a day of my time with no results. After doing so I downloaded and installed Zemana, as instructed, and let it do a full system scan. It, however, did nothingĪbout the adware `svcvmx` & `svcvmx client` processes. I killed the processes with Rkill as instructed, and it found and ended the malware process `tprdpw64.exe`. I followed each set of instructions step by step, to the T, but the viruses are still there. However neither link provided a working solution. made sure all security programs were off/have an exception for OriginĬlick to expand.Thank you for the reply and the suggestions.going to msconfig and turning off all services along with all startup processes, then restarting and installing again.installed the base game, the GA DLC first, then install the C&C DLC.copy Steam's installed C&C files to Origin's folders.installed microsoft vcredist packs all over again.completely uninstalled Origin "the hard way" and deleted all traces of Spore on my pc and also made sure nothing lingered on steam, just in case.i would like to solve this however, mostly since it happen on windows 7 to windows 10, im afraid it wont ever go away on this pc less i clean install. i wanted to move to Origin for the sake of it functioning better but obviously that has been.an issue. no one has mentioned this error in regards to Spore either. no reports about it anywhere as far as i can see. I cant find anything about this exe file online. i am quite sure i installed every single update, vcredist pack i needed, etc and have no issues other wise- and considering all my previous installs where i didnt even take the same measures to make sure i had all the things i needed, im confused by this! However, this game was working just fine on this PC using windows 7 and 10. I am using windows 10, but i had also upgraded from Windows 7 just recently where this error also occurred. So what is 0x0ec02d4c.exe? why isnt it installing when i install this game? how can i install it properly? the folder for that exe is seperate from the folders for DX9Redist, vc2013 files and directx that comes with Spore when it installs through Origin. 0x0ec02d4c.exe is in a folder called "customcomponent", and the folder contains 0x0ec02d4c.exe and another file, msvcr71.dll. in thet destination folder i also find "0x0ec02d4c.exe" along with other microsoft vcredist packs that downloaded with it. within the installation folder, i see the game's typical contents plus some of the DLC. after the boxes close, Origin says it is installed but it clearly isnt, as it does not appear in the game. it will first show a black windows, then says it has "stopped working" and then the next error message saying not installed successfully. Whenever i install this game DLC, it gets to the end and says "0x0ec02d4c.exe was not installed successfully". i am trying to install the Spore DLC Creepy and Cute, but it fails with this error every time. i would love to find insight on "0x0ec02d4c.exe" if it is infact related to microsoft and what i can do. so i wanted to post here since they kept saying this was related to a microsoft program/thing. Hi, this is an issue related to a game i am installing through EA Origin, and i am getting support there but they have yet to actually figure out a solution and its obvious they dont know.
